Mahomes and the Chiefs favored to beat Brady’s Buccaneers
This Sunday brings the long-awaited battle between the reigning Champs: The Kansas City Chiefs and The Tampa Bay Buccaneers for Super Bowl LV, which is February 7th at 6:30 p.m. ET at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers are making history before the game starts because this is the first time the Super Bowl is being played at the stadium of the actual home team. Even though Brady is a Super Bowl veteran with a whopping six rings, Patrick Mahomes And The Chiefs are favored to win the title for the second year in a row. There is a lot of excitement this week going into the Super Bowl; something to get everyone’s minds off of the pandemic. This year has been a whirlwind of emotions in the pro football world from quarantining and testing to the Browns having a good season. But something I thought I’d never see is happening and that’s Tom Brady leading The Buccaneers to the Super Bowl. Also, it’s a game where one quarterback is old enough to be the other’s father, it’s a rookie vs veteran Super Bowl and we will see which school new or old will be dominant. Back in week twelve, the Chiefs defeated the Buccaneers, but what is interesting is that Super Bowl LV is going to be the fourteenth time that the big game will be a regular-season rematch and that the AFC has never beaten a team from the NFC twice in one season. Our Super Bowl LV pick is the Kansas City Chiefs who are sixteen and two, but it all comes down to the wire.
Tom Brady is a Super Bowl Quarterback and he has the power to change the game and make a great impact, but if he doesn’t show up this Sunday it won’t work out in the Buccaneers’ favor. With the hot streak Mahomes and the Chiefs are on right now and how they beat the Bucs in their last meeting sways me to go all-in for Kansas City. The match up Mahomes v. Brady is always going to be an exciting one, the Series for Brady v. Mahomes is 2-2 and the Chiefs have scored more than Brady’s teams by the skin of their teeth. It could go either way but the way it’s looking like, The Lombardi trophy will call Arrowhead Stadium home and will belong to the Chiefs as they hopefully become back-to-back champs. Especially since they are on the road for the game this Sunday it works more in the Chiefs’ favor because they are twenty-one and four (21-4) on the road. If Brady and the Buccaneers want to even think about winning this weekend, they have to take out Patrick Mahomes’ arm and stop kill the Chiefs’ pass offense because they rely on that more than the run game. Unfortunately, the Bucs pass defense is lacking skill and dealing with injuries like Jordan Whitehead a big part of their secondary is dealing with shoulder issues. Also, in their last meeting, Tyreek Hill of the Chiefs ran up two hundred yards on the Bucs defense in the first half of the game. If the Buccaneers want to emerge victorious this Sunday, their defense is going to attack Kansas City’s weak offensive line. During the AFC title game Eric Fischer, the Chief’s left tackle tore his Achilles. Tampa Bay is going to have to capitalize and rush the line, so they have a chance to win this, but Mahomes goes off when he is in a tight bind. Todd Bowles the defensive coordinator for the Buccaneers is going to have to come up with a solid plan to stop Mahomes because if he cannot defeat the Chiefs, with the pass rush I don’t know how he’s going to pull this one-off. Then on the other side of the line, we got The Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo who has beat Tom Brady in the Super Bowl in 2007 when he was with the Giants. Beating Brady is a tough task, but if you’re able to put pressure on him then he’s like putty in your hands. If you just pound on him all game and make it to where he has no impact on the game it should be a W, because, without Brady’s impact especially in past Super Bowls his teams lose, they depend on him like a crutch. Coach Spagnuolo is the guy when it comes down to making a defense that could stop Brady. With a three and two record against Brady and a five and zero record in the playoffs with the Chiefs and nine and two overall. Also, out of nine Super Bowls, Tom Brady has been slow in the first quarter. He has never put up a touchdown for his team in the first quarter he’s only put up a total of 3 points. But Brady is clutch he can throw the long ball and has made thirty-six passes over twenty yards this year a league-high. This still will be a challenge for Brady though because Kansas City is the best team in the league and one of the better teams at stopping the long ball. They led the league with eight interceptions on long throws and held all QB’s in the NFL to a 63.6 rating on long throws while the average this year was 94.9.

Overall, Andy Reid and the Chiefs are coming into this game ready to dominate, they are coming into this game off of a bye week and Coach Reid is twenty-six and five coming off a bye. Another thing working for Mahomes & Co. is his performance coming off of a bye. Mahomes is seven and zero. Lastly, how they average thirty-three points facing a team twice in a season, I believe the Chiefs are going to run up points into the beginning of the game and make it a high scoring game, which will be hard for Brady and The Bucs to keep up. With Brady only averaging 3 points in the first quarter, if the Chiefs come out guns blazing, Brady is going to have to be ready for a major comeback. But this wouldn’t be the first time he had to do this. In Super Bowl LI, Brady came back from a 28-3 deficit to beat Atlanta putting up nineteen points in the fourth quarter. This game is going to definitely be one for the ages, in the past, some Super Bowl games have been underwhelming like the Super Bowl XLVIII when the Seahawks blew out the Broncos 43-8. I don’t want to jinx it, but this game is going to be an exciting one because it can go either way. Will the Super Bowl veteran Tom Brady add another ring to his collection, or will the young hotshot Patrick Mahomes dethrone the Super Bowl king and win his 2nd consecutive ring. There hasn’t been back to back Super Bowl champs in sixteen years since Tom Brady did it with the Patriots in Superbowl XXXVIII in 2004 and XXXIX in 2005. The Chiefs have the opportunity to make history this Sunday and I strongly believe they are going to do it and Andy Reid is going to be eating a nice victory cheeseburger.
